Tundra Hybrid Sunroof Initialization Error

My 2022 Toyota Tundra Hybrid is throwing a 'sunroof not initialized' error with 159291 km. The sunblind gets stuck, and the convertible top is unusable. The sunblind doesn't retract or extend properly. I suspect it's related to some recent coding. Any ideas on a sunroof reset?

That sounds frustrating! When you say 'coding', was it something you did yourself, or was it performed by a shop? What exactly was coded or changed right before this started happening? The more details, the better chance we have of figuring this out. Have you tried any basic troubleshooting steps, like checking fuses related to the sunroof operation or disconnecting the battery for a while to see if that clears the error?

The coding was done at a shop, supposedly just enabling some extra features. I haven't checked any fuses yet. Disconnecting the battery... would that really do anything? I figured it was a software issue. Any specific fuses I should check?

A battery disconnect might help, though it's a long shot given the 'coding' you mentioned. I agree it points to software, but sometimes a hard reset can clear glitches. Your owner's manual should have a diagram for the fuses. Since a shop did the coding, it's almost certain they messed something up and should be responsible for fixing it. Sounds like they corrupted the settings. At this point, I think you might need to take it back to them or another shop with Toyota diagnostic tools.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to another workshop. They confirmed the coding issue and were able to re-initialize the sunroof system for 75€. Annoying, but at least it's fixed!
