Twingo cylinder pressure fluctuation

I've got a 2011 Renault Twingo, diesel engine, with 174790 km. Lately, it's been acting up. The main issue is cylinder pressure fluctuation, manifesting as higher fuel consumption, reduced engine power, and the check engine light. Any ideas where I should start looking? I'm thinking head gasket, crankshaft, fuel injector, turbocharger, maybe even the timing belt.

Whoa, that sounds like a proper headache! Cylinder pressure issues can be tricky. Are you sure it isn't a consequential error? Have you checked for any other fault codes that might be triggering the pressure fluctuations? Like, is there any sensor that has gone bad?

Good point about the consequential error! I hadn't fully focused on that. I did a quick scan and got a few codes, but they seemed kinda generic, nothing screaming 'culprit!' Should I be digging deeper into those seemingly minor codes, almost like they are clues?

Totally! Think of it like this: the cylinder pressure issue is the symptom, not necessarily the disease itself. Those 'minor' codes could be pointing to the actual root cause. But if you don't find anything, it might be better to have a workshop take a look at it with professional tools.

You were spot on! Turns out, it was indeed a consequential error. The 'minor' fault code was related to some faulty wiring. After fixing the wiring, the cylinder pressure fluctuation disappeared. The best thing: total repair cost 0€! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
