Twingo Diesel Drift Compensation Error
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Renault Twingo diesel engine is experiencing rough running and intermittent check engine light, with an error code indicating 'reset quantity drift compensation.' The issue is suspected to be related to the injection valve or injector. A suggestion was made to check the mass airflow sensor, as it could mislead the ECU into improper fuel trim adjustments. Ultimately, the problem was confirmed to be a faulty fuel injector, which was professionally repaired.

Thanks. I haven't checked the mass airflow sensors yet, I've been focusing on the fuel injection system because of the error code. The error memory says 'reset quantity drift compensation'. Could a bad MAF sensor really cause this specific error, since it seems to point to the injection system?

The code points to the injection system, but the real cause can be misleading. My Astra was misreporting the airflow, causing the ECU to compensate improperly with fuel trim. Check the MAF readings against expected values. But, since it's related to fuel injection, I'd advise getting it to a workshop before you make it worse.

Thanks. I'll get the injection system checked out professionally, since it could cause more damage. I took it to the workshop, and the fuel injector was faulty. The repair cost 515€.

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my 2016 Opel Astra. Different car, but the symptoms sound similar: rough running and a check engine light. Did you check the mass airflow sensors? Sometimes a bad MAF sensor can throw off the fuel trim, leading to what looks like a drift compensation issue. What codes are you seeing?
