Twingo Electric Brake Light Failure

My 2023 Renault Twingo Electric is showing a strange brake light issue at 89555 km. The brake lights fail intermittently, and an error message appears in the infotainment. The error memory shows a fault code for the brake light switch. I suspect user error. Has anyone seen this?

Interesting. I've had brake light gremlins on my Twingo too. Have you been working near the pedals recently? Maybe a connector came loose, or the switch is faulty. What error code are you getting?

The connector seems okay, I reseated it a couple of times. I looked at the switch, but didn't want to mess with it too much. I'd have to rescan to get the exact code, but I think it's a short or open circuit reading. Do you think I should just take it to a workshop?

Yeah. If the connections are good and you're still getting intermittent failures, the switch is likely the problem. A workshop diagnosis and replacement is probably best. It could be a bad batch of switches or just wear and tear.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop as suggested. The brake light switch was indeed faulty, but the repair was 0€ because it was covered under warranty.
