Twingo Electric Steering Column Fault
Summary of the thread
The steering column adjustment on a 2023 Renault Twingo Electric stopped working after 208,000 km, with an error stored, suggesting a possible cable or plug connection issue. Suggestions included checking the error code, gently wiggling the steering column while pressing adjustment buttons, and inspecting related fuses. Ultimately, the issue was identified as a faulty connector, which was resolved at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply! I pulled the code myself, but I can check it later. Good shout on the fuse. When you say 'wiggle,' do you mean while the ignition is on and the engine is running or just with the ignition on?

Definitely ignition on, but engine off is fine. You just want the electrical system active so it can try to make the adjustment. If there's an error code stored, and the wiggling doesn't do anything, it sounds like a connection issue. It might be worth taking it to a workshop. Dealing with steering can be tricky, and you don't want to mess anything up further. Plus, they'll have the proper tools to diagnose the exact fault.

Appreciate the advice. You're right, probably best to get it looked at by professionals. It was a faulty connector; got it sorted at the shop for 95€.

Electric steering column issues are a pain, especially with that mileage. You pulled the error code yourself? Knowing the exact code could narrow things down. Try gently wiggling the steering column while pressing the adjustment buttons. Sometimes it's a misaligned connection. Check the fuses related to the steering system, just in case one blew. Be careful around the electrics!
