Heavy steering and vibrations? Hmm, it certainly could be the steering angle sensor. Are there any warning lights on the dashboard? Has the car had any recent work done, like a wheel alignment, that might have disturbed the sensor?

Thanks for the quick reply! No warning lights are on, which is strange. And no, I haven't had any work done recently that could have affected it. If it is the steering angle sensor, is it something that could get worse quickly? I am mostly worried about the safety aspect.

Okay, no warning lights is indeed a bit odd, but not impossible with a sensor issue. And yes, if it is the steering angle sensor failing, it absolutely could get worse. A malfunctioning sensor can cause unpredictable behavior with the power steering and stability systems, which definitely impacts safety. I would strongly advise taking it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed. It sounds like it needs coding.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it! I took it to a workshop, and you were right, it was the steering angle sensor! They said the coding was faulty. Repair cost me 195€. It's all sorted now.
