Twingo Idle Air Control Valve Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Renault Twingo experienced stalling at idle and a check engine light, with diagnostics indicating a malfunctioning idle air control valve. A heavily contaminated intake manifold was suspected as a contributing factor. After consulting a mechanic, the diagnosis confirmed the faulty valve due to the contamination. The issue was resolved by cleaning the manifold and replacing the valve, resulting in smooth engine operation.

Did the error memory also point to the idle air control valve in your case? Trying to figure out if the symptoms and error code definitively mean it's the valve, or if the fault is elsewhere in the air intake system.

Yes, the error codes pointed toward the idle speed control too. Given the symptoms, it is very likely. I took it to a local workshop, and they sorted it. I suggest visiting a professional. It is difficult to pinpoint the cause without the right tools.

Your advice was invaluable. I consulted a mechanic. The diagnosis confirmed a faulty idle air control valve, due to a heavily contaminated intake manifold. The repair, including cleaning and valve replacement, cost 425€. The engine now runs smoothly.

I had similar issues with my Twingo, engine stalling and check engine light. Have you checked the throttle body? A dirty throttle body can cause engine stalling. Look at that before assuming it's the idle air control valve.
