Twingo immobilizer issue
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Renault Twingo with an electric engine is experiencing starting issues, suspected to be related to the immobilizer system. The problem is indicated by a constantly flashing security light, suggesting the immobilizer isn't recognizing the key. The likely cause is incorrect key programming. The recommended solution is to have the key re-programmed by a professional, which resolved the issue.

The security light flashes constantly. I've only got the one key, unfortunately. Is there a way to check the key's programming myself, or am I stuck taking it to a professional?

Flashing security light usually means the immobilizer isn't recognizing the key. Since you only have one key, it's difficult to diagnose further. The key programming is most likely incorrect. While there are some DIY methods floating around online, messing with the immobilizer can brick your car. Best to take it to someone who knows Renault systems.

Okay, thanks for confirming my fears! I bit the bullet and took it in. Turns out the key needed re-programming, just as you suspected. Cost me 45€, which isn't too bad. Thanks for the advice!

Could be a few things. Is the security light on the dash behaving normally? Does it go out after you insert the key? Have you tried your spare key to rule out a problem with the remote?
