Twingo Rain Light Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Renault Twingo owner is experiencing issues with the rain-light sensor, affecting auto-wiping, auto headlights, and speedometer dimming. The problem is identified as bubbles forming under the gel pad where the sensor meets the windshield, disrupting sensor readings. The suggested solution is to have the gel pad checked and replaced at a workshop, which successfully resolves the issue.

Bubbles under the gel pad, you say? That's a new one on me. Is that a common thing? And does it really throw off all those systems?

Yep, bubbles are the likely culprit. They cause all sorts of mayhem with the sensor signals, affecting the wipers, lights, and even the dash dimming. Best bet is to get it checked at a workshop.

You were spot on! Took it to the shop, and you wouldn't believe it – bubbles galore under that gel pad. They replaced it, and everything's back to normal. Cost me 62€, but worth every penny. Thanks a bunch for the heads-up!

Sounds familiar. I've got a Twingo too, and had similar gremlins. Check for bubbles forming under the gel pad where the sensor meets the windshield. It messes with the sensor readings.
