Ulysee automatic transmission implausible shifting
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Fiat Ulysee is experiencing implausible shifting, with the transmission warning light on and occasional emergency mode activation. Initially suspected to be caused by old transmission oil, the issue was later identified as undervoltage affecting the automatic transmission. The solution involved cleaning corroded ground connections, which resolved the shifting problem.

The battery seems fine and new. I checked the connections. Could the hydraulic fluid be the problem? Would a fluid change fix it?

A flush might help temporarily, but undervoltage could still be the issue. It came back for me after the flush. If the connections are okay, take it to a workshop to check for electrical problems. They should measure the voltage while driving.

I took the car to a workshop as you recommended. The mechanic confirmed undervoltage during operation. They cleaned corroded ground connections for 240€. The transmission shifts smoothly now!

I drive a Ulysee and had similar problems. It sounds like undervoltage. The automatic transmission is sensitive. Check your battery and connections first. Is your battery old?
