Ulysee Camshaft Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Fiat Ulysee with a gasoline engine is experiencing poor starting, reduced engine power, and an active check engine light, with an error indicating a camshaft sensor issue. The problem could be due to a bad connection at the camshaft sensor, which is located near the top of the engine. Checking and securing the cable and plug connection resolved the issue, confirming that a faulty connection was the cause.

Thanks for the tip! Where exactly is that camshaft sensor located, and is it easy to get to the cable and plug? Also, I didn't check the crankshaft sensor. Is that a common culprit too?

It's usually located near the top of the engine, often on the cylinder head. You should be able to see the cable and plug without too much disassembly. If the connection looks fine, honestly, just go to the workshop. These sensors are a pain. My issues were exactly the same.

Thanks a bunch! Turns out you were spot on! It was indeed the cable connection. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Appreciate the help!

I had similar symptoms on my Ulysee. Check the cable and plug connection to the camshaft position sensor first. A faulty connection can cause all sorts of weird issues. Have you checked the crankshaft sensor too?
