Ulysee Faulty Light Switch
Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around a faulty light switch issue in a 2006 Fiat Ulysee, where lights switch on randomly, and an error is stored. The suspected causes include a defective cable or plug connection, possibly due to a short in the switch connector. A suggested solution is to inspect the connector pins for corrosion or damage, and if unresolved, consider professional repair, potentially involving replacing the entire switch assembly.

Thanks! I'll check the connector pins. When you say 'short in the switch connector', do you mean the connector on the switch itself, or the wiring harness connector?

Yeah, I meant the connector on the switch itself. Honestly, after messing with it for hours, I just took it to a workshop. They confirmed the issue and replaced the entire switch assembly.

Thanks for confirming. Hoping for a simple fix, but sounds like it's best to take it to a professional. Estimating around 95€ for the repair, I will see if that holds up. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! Had a similar nightmare with my old Opel Astra. Tail lights would flicker, and the dashboard lights would dim for no reason. Turned out to be a short in the switch connector. Have you checked the connector pins for corrosion or damage?
