Ulysee Mixture Preparation Error
Summary of the thread
A 2007 Fiat Ulysee with a gasoline engine was experiencing a mixture preparation error, leading to reduced power, a check engine light, rough running, jerking acceleration, and stalling at idle. The initial suspicion was a defective injector. Suggestions included checking the mass airflow sensor, intake manifold leaks, clogged catalytic converter, spark plugs, and air-fuel ratio. Ultimately, the issue was resolved by replacing the injector, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Interesting. You mentioned intake manifold leaks. How did you diagnose that on your Saab? Was it obvious, or did you use smoke testing?

I used a smoke test in the workshop. I had some suspicious hissing sounds but it was hard to be sure. Given your symptoms, I'd suggest a visit to a workshop if you can't measure it yourself.

Thanks for the input. It was indeed the injector. Replaced it, cost 515€. Runs like new.

Had similar issues with my old Saab 9-3. Check engine light, rough idle like it wanted to stall all the time. Could be the injector, but did you check your mass airflow sensor? Intake manifold leaks can also cause that, or even a clogged catalytic converter. Spark plugs and air-fuel ratio should also be checked.
