Unusual behavior in the 2008 Ford Ranger: Excessive bouncing and uneven ride height
(Translated from German)
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Ford Ranger is experiencing excessive bouncing and uneven ride height. The initial suspicion is a faulty air suspension compressor, but since the vehicle has a normal suspension, this is unlikely. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by addressing defective suspension components. It is suggested to check the shocks or springs as potential causes, and consulting a garage for further inspection is recommended.

Hey, thanks for the answer! My Ranger is the XLT 4.0L V6 with the normal suspension, so nothing special or anything. I just went back out and checked, mileage is 73225 km, last service was last week, so that can't be the problem. I'll call my garage first and then report back. Your experience really helps me, thanks again!

No problem at all, always happy to help! I definitely wouldn't attribute a faulty air suspension compressor to your Ranger, especially if you say it has a normal suspension. I'm no mechanic, but it sounds more like a problem with the shocks or springs to me. With the mileage, this could also be a good fit. Tell your garage and ask them if they can look into it. I hope that helps for now. Please keep us posted on what comes out of it! Good luck, buddy!

Hey, cool that you replied so quickly! I think you might be right about the shocks or springs, it definitely feels like there's a problem there. I'll definitely talk to my garage about it and ask them to check those parts in more detail. Thanks again for the tip! I'll get back to you as soon as I have any news. Thanks for your help buddy!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Ford Mustang (built in 2010, also gasoline engine). I'm not a car expert, but I've had a hand or two with it. When the problem arose, my Mustang drove like on clouds - in a negative sense. Funnily enough, the suspension air bellows was defective. I then drove to my regular workshop and the guys there fixed it quickly. It cost 590 euros, but since then the car has been running like clockwork again. To be able to help you more specifically, we would need more information about your vehicle. For example, do you know the exact model designation, engine type and does your car have a specific chassis? Keep us up to date with what the garage says. Hope that helps you.
