UrbanCruiser outside temperature sensor issue

Hi, I have a 2013 Toyota UrbanCruiser diesel with about 59000km on it. I'm getting an error related to the outside temperature sensor. The AC won't kick on, and the mirror heating doesn't work. I've noticed the spray nozzles freeze up quickly too. I'm thinking it might be a bad connection somewhere. Has anyone else run into this?

That sounds like a faulty outside temperature sensor indeed. I've seen similar issues on other cars where a bad sensor reading messes with other systems. Before you start replacing parts, have you checked the wiring and the plug connection to the sensor itself? A loose or corroded connection can cause all sorts of weird problems. Where is the sensor located on your model?

I haven't located the sensor yet. Do you know where I could find it?

I don't know the exact location on your specific model UrbanCruiser, but usually it's behind the front bumper, near the radiator, or sometimes in the side mirror. Honestly, with those symptoms, especially the AC and mirror heating issues, and without knowing the exact location, I'd recommend getting it checked by a professional. A diagnostic tool can pinpoint the fault and save you time and potential headaches.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop and they confirmed it was the temperature sensor connection as you suspected. Repair cost 95€. All working again!
