Urvan headlight range control malfunction

I'm having trouble with the headlight range control on my 2022 Nissan Urvan diesel. It has 212446 km on it. The error memory shows a fault, and there's a warning light on the speedometer. The low beam shines too high or too low. Diagnostics suggest a defective servomotor. Any ideas?

Wow, that sounds frustrating! I had a similar experience with my Urvan. The error messages and the low beam behaving erratically sound familiar. Did you check the electrical connectors to the headlight? Sometimes corrosion or a loose connection messes with the range control. What about the control module itself? Could it be sending incorrect signals for light intensity?

Thanks for the response. I visually inspected the electrical connectors, but I didn't use a multimeter. I also didn't isolate or test the control module. Could you tell me more about the control module issue you had? Were there specific error codes?

I only visually inspected the connectors, and they looked fine to me as well. My control module issue didn't give a specific code, but the behavior was erratic, like you describe. Since the diagnostics point to a faulty servomotor, I'd recommend a trusted mechanic. They can do more in-depth testing than a visual inspection. The repair cost me about 1040€, including parts and labor.

Roger that. Thanks for confirming you had a similar experience and for the cost estimate. I'll make an appointment with a good workshop to check the servomotor and related parts. Your input was very helpful.
