Urvan Hissing Sound and Fuel Consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Nissan Urvan is experiencing increased fuel consumption, a check engine light, and a loud hissing sound during acceleration, suspected to be an air intake leak. Despite checking the intake hoses and throttle body, the issue persists, raising concerns about a possible vacuum hose leak or engine misfire. A suggestion was made to have a professional workshop perform a thorough leak detection to accurately identify and resolve the problem.

Thanks! You mean the main intake hose between the air filter and the throttle body? Or were there any smaller, less obvious hoses that were leaking? Any tips on how to do a more thorough leak detection? I don't want to just start replacing parts.

Yes, the main intake hose. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop; they will use proper leak detection equipment to be sure.

Thanks! I appreciate the insight. I'll take it to a shop. Hopefully, it's just a leaky intake hose and not something more serious. I'll post what the problem was once it's fixed. The estimated repair cost is around 100€ at my local shop.

I had a similar issue with my Urvan. That hissing sound is usually a giveaway. Have you checked the intake hose thoroughly? That was the culprit in my case.
