V Klasse AC temperature sensor problem

Interesting! How did you check the sensor calibration? Was it a DIY job, or did you need special tools? Any pointers would be great. I am trying to pinpoint if it's the sensor itself or the control unit before heading to a workshop. Did you have to check for a coolant leak as well?

I took it to a workshop to check the sensor calibration; I didn't have the right tools. They confirmed it was the sensor giving bad readings, likely leading to the AC shutting down as a safety measure. I would recommend you do the same. They quoted me around 980€ to replace the defective part. That should fix it. I would recommend doing the same, since it fixed my car.

Thanks a lot for the info! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on. The temperature sensor was indeed the culprit, giving inaccurate readings and preventing the AC from starting. Got it replaced, and everything's working perfectly now. Appreciate the advice!

I had something similar happen on my V Klasse. The air conditioning wasn't working, and I was getting weird temperature readings. Did you check the sensor calibration? For me, the temperature sensor itself wasn't defective, but the readings were off, causing the AC to shut down. It might be worth investigating before assuming the control unit is toast.
