V Klasse blower problems
Summary of the thread
The conversation revolves around blower issues in a 2005 V Klasse gasoline engine, where the HVAC system is completely non-functional. Possible causes discussed include the fan speed controller, electrical wiring, or a fuse, but the error memory suggests the blower motor itself might be the problem. A suggested solution is to inspect the fan speed controller and wiring, but ultimately, taking the vehicle to a workshop for professional diagnosis and repair is recommended, as it resolved a similar issue for another owner.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yeah, totally dead. No air, nothing! Where exactly is the fan speed controller located? And how did you check the wiring? I'm not great with electrical stuff, to be honest. The error memory says it's the blower motor, but I'm hoping it's something simpler before I shell out for a new one. It's a 2005 V Klasse, gasoline engine, with only 31381 km on the clock! Seems too soon for the blower to die completely.

Okay, so totally dead is what I had too. The fan speed controller... man, I can't remember exactly, but it was somewhere near the blower motor itself, behind the glove box I think? Honestly, the wiring check I did was pretty basic - just looked for anything obviously burnt or loose. I eventually gave up and took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the blower motor. Sometimes the error memory is right, sadly. Saved myself a headache just letting them deal with it. I know it sucks, but that HVAC system is important!

Right, behind the glove box. I'll have a poke around, but yeah, sounds like I'm heading to the workshop. They quoted me around 365€ for a new blower motor and fitting, which is painful. Thanks for sharing your experience! At least I know what to expect.

Ugh, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my V Klasse, although I can't remember the year. Is your HVAC system just completely dead? No air circulation at all? Mine was driving me crazy. I remember checking the fan speed controller first, but that wasn't it. Did you check the electrical wiring to the blower motor? Maybe a fuse?
