V40 Mirror Heating Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Volvo V40 diesel is experiencing a mirror heating failure, with diagnostics indicating an error. The issue affects both mirrors, suggesting a common fault rather than individual heater element failures. The likely cause is identified as a defective cable or plug connection, which is confirmed and resolved at a workshop.

Good question. It affects both mirrors. Is there a common point of failure I should investigate before assuming it's both heater elements?

Ah, both mirrors... Given the error code and the fact that both are out, it does point to a connector or wiring fault. It's probably not the heater elements themselves. I'd suggest going to the workshop; they will probably find the broken cable and replace it quickly.

Thanks. I followed your suggestion and took it to the shop. As suspected, it was a defective plug connection. Repair cost was 95€. Appreciate the help!

Heated mirrors not working, eh? That's a common issue. Does it affect both mirrors, or just one?
