Thanks for the insight. I will check for error codes. For the intake manifold, is there a particular area I should focus on when inspecting for leaks? Could you elaborate on the error codes you encountered with your Renault?

On the Megane, the errors pointed to a general rich mixture, which made it hard to pinpoint. I'd visually inspect the manifold for cracks and check all the connections. Honestly, given the symptoms and your initial thought about the injectors, it might be worth getting a diagnostic from a workshop. Saved me a lot of headaches in the end!

I appreciate the advice. A professional diagnosis seems warranted. I brought it to the workshop soon. They confirmed it was indeed the fuel injectors, and the total repair came to 515€.

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar issue with my old Renault Megane: check engine light, poor fuel economy, the works. Have you checked the intake manifold for leaks or blockages? That was my first thought before the garage pointed me towards the injectors. Are you getting any specific error codes with the check engine light?
