V60 auxiliary battery issues

Alright, Volvo gurus, I'm pulling my hair out here! My 2020 V60 gasoline is throwing some serious tantrums at 69141 km. It's all about the auxiliary battery, I think. I'm getting an error message in the speedometer that won't go away, and the error memory is packed with related codes. The engine is sluggish when starting, and I'm noticing general electrical weirdness, like the interior lights dimming at random. I've checked the main battery, and it seems fine. Could this all point to the aux battery not charging properly? Anyone seen this before?

Whoa, that sounds familiar! I've got a V60, too. I had similar issues a while back – the error messages were driving me crazy! Weak starts, flickering lights... It was a real pain. Did you check the voltage on the aux battery itself? That's where I started digging. What kind of voltage are you seeing?

Good call on the voltage check! I haven't actually put a multimeter on the aux battery itself yet. I've been meaning to get around to it. Where is it located, exactly? And what kind of voltage drop did you experience when you had this issue?

Okay, so on my V60, the aux battery was tucked away in the trunk, near the spare tire. It was a pain to get to, honestly. As for the voltage drop, I don't have the exact numbers anymore, but it was significantly lower than what it should've been. Honestly, after messing around with it for a bit, I just took it to a workshop. Turned out the battery was toast and needed replacing. Saved me a lot of headache in the long run!

Thanks a bunch for the insight! Sounds like a trip to the workshop is in order. I was hoping to avoid it, but your experience makes me think it's the best bet. I got it checked and you were right, the auxiliary battery was faulty! New battery cost me 290€ including installation. Appreciate the advice!
