Thanks for the insights. Can you elaborate on the injector test process? What results confirm a defective injector? Where should I start?

An injector test measures fuel flow rate and spray pattern. A defective injector might show a lower flow rate or irregular spray pattern. Given the precision required, I recommend a workshop for a fuel system diagnosis. I went to a mechanic and paid a lot, but it was worth it. Could be electrical, but better to have it checked.

Appreciate the explanation and advice. I'll arrange a professional injector test and fuel system diagnosis at a trusted workshop. Thanks for sharing your experience; it's been most helpful. Total repair was 515€ for parts and labor.

Those symptoms point towards a fuel delivery problem, possibly an injector issue. Rough idle and difficult cold starts are common. I had similar problems with my old BMW 3 Series – turned out to be a faulty injector. Have you considered an injector test to confirm if injectors are functioning correctly? Also look for engine misfire codes using an OBD2 scanner.
