V60 Power Windows Fail After Battery Change

Guys, my 2012 Volvo V60 with a gasoline engine is driving me nuts. I had to replace the battery and now the power windows won't work at all! Is that even possible? The display says there's an error. Anyone seen this before?

Sounds like the window regulators might need re-initialization. Did you try holding the window switch up for a few seconds after it's fully closed? Sometimes that does the trick. Have you checked the fuses too?

Holding the switch up? Never heard of that! Where are the fuses for the windows, and is there a trick to that re-initialization thing, or just hold it?

Yeah, just hold the switch up for maybe 5-10 seconds after the window is fully closed. The fuse box location should be in your owner's manual. But honestly, if it's not working, and you've got an error code, it might need a proper reset at a workshop. Could save you a headache.

Thanks! Holding the switch didn't do anything. Bit the bullet and took it to a shop. Turns out the regulator needed a reset. Cost me 290€, but at least the windows work now!
