V60 Sensor Issues

I've got a 2011 Volvo V60 diesel with about 85,000 km on the clock. Recently, I've been getting some odd errors. The error memory stores a fog sensor issue, and the air conditioning won't switch on. Also, the spray nozzles froze up during some cold weather, and the mirror heating isn't working. Seems like a cable or plug connection problem with the fog sensor, and my local garage quoted 95€ for repair. Anyone else seen this before?

Interesting. I had a somewhat similar electrical gremlin in my V60. It wasn't exactly the fog sensor, but it was like one bad apple spoiling the whole bunch of related systems. Is your dashboard lighting up like a Christmas tree with warnings?

Not quite a Christmas tree, but definitely more lights than usual! So, your V60 had similar symptoms – air con, mirror heating, etc. – all linked to one sensor? What exactly was it on your car?

Yes, exactly. The root cause was a faulty humidity sensor. It cascades downwards, and if the sensor reads incorrectly, then the whole system shuts down for protection. The entire network interprets it as an error. In my opinion, go to the workshop. I would say that they should check the connections first, and then replace the unit. It is the fastest and easiest way.

Thanks! Humidity sensor makes sense. I'll mention that when I take it in. I appreciate the help!
