Thank you for your reply. It is not misfiring, but I am experiencing some hesitation when accelerating. Was the root cause on your Vauxhall the VANOS solenoid, or something else?

Yeah, it definitely sounds like VANOS. On my Astra, it turned out to be a faulty VANOS solenoid valve. Eventually needed to get it diagnosed at a workshop to be 100% sure. I'd advise the same.

Appreciate your help! After a visit to the workshop, it was indeed a defective camshaft solenoid valve. Repair cost amounted to approximately 250€. Replacing the valve resolved the issue.

That sounds familiar! I had almost the exact same symptoms on my old Vauxhall Astra. Check engine light and all. VANOS failure can be a real pain. Is the car running rough at all, or misfiring?
