V70 ABS Lateral Acceleration Sensor Issue

ABS lamp illuminates on my 2015 Volvo V70 diesel, leading to ABS failure. Diagnostic testing shows an error related to the lateral acceleration sensor. The mileage is 81505 km. It seems the control unit may be defective. Has anyone else had similar problems?

Hey! That sounds familiar. I had almost the exact same problem with my V70, though it was a few years back. The ABS light and everything... Did it also feel a bit weird when cornering sometimes, like the stability control was overreacting? Cost me a fortune!

Yes, the stability control does seem overly sensitive at times. Was your issue also diagnosed as a faulty lateral acceleration sensor, or was it something else? And what was the final repair?

Spot on, lateral acceleration sensor! Honestly, I wouldn't waste too much time trying to fix it yourself unless you're really confident with electronics. I'd suggest taking it to a reputable workshop. These things can be tricky, and you don't want to mess up the whole ABS system. I think I paid around 1000€ back then.

Thank you. Based on your experience, I will take it to a workshop for professional diagnostics and repair. It does seem like the lateral acceleration sensor is the likely culprit. Appreciate the help!
