V70 Boost Pressure Fault

I'm having boost pressure control issues with my 2002 Volvo V70 diesel. Check engine light's on, power's reduced, response is poor, and fuel consumption is up. Mileage is at 89288 km. Thinking it might be a vacuum leak or a bad vacuum switching valve. Sound right?

Sounds like what I had with my V70. Could be a faulty boost controller or a vacuum leak in the intake manifold. Checked the vacuum lines for cracks? Also, check the pressure sensor, maybe it's acting up. Notice any pressure drop when accelerating?

I checked the vacuum lines for obvious cracks, but it's hard to be sure. The pressure sensor is a good call; I'll look into that. Got a way to test the vacuum switching valve or the sensor to see if they're bad?

Honestly, without the right tools and risking making things worse, I'd take it to a shop. Could be the valve, could be something else in the boost system. They can hook it up to a diagnostic tool and find the problem. Better than guessing and maybe breaking something else.

Took your advice and saw a mechanic. Turns out the vacuum switching valve was the problem. Repair cost: 140€. Thanks again for the help!
