V70 Fog Sensor Problems

Hi, I have a 2010 Volvo V70 with a diesel engine and about 230000 km on it. I'm getting an error related to the fog sensor. The air conditioning won't switch on, the spray nozzles are frozen even when it's not that cold, and the mirror heating isn't working. Could this all be related? I read somewhere it might be a cable or plug issue. Anyone else experienced this?

Whoa, that sounds like a mess! I have a V70 as well (though I can't remember the exact year right now), and I had similar symptoms a while back. No AC, weird issues with things freezing up... Did you check for any other dashboard warnings? Was it just the fog sensor specifically?

Yeah, it's a pain. No other warnings besides the fog sensor one. The error memory says it's definitely that. Was your problem definitely the fog sensor too?

Okay, if the error memory says it's the fog sensor, it probably is. In my case, the issues all vanished after I had the sensor replaced. Given your symptoms and the potential wiring issue you mentioned, I'd say it's worth getting it checked out by a professional. A faulty sensor can definitely mess with the whole climate control system and those other features.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it! I took it to a workshop, and you were right – it was the fog sensor and a dodgy connection. Cost me 95€ to get it sorted. Everything's working fine now.
