V70 Transport Mode Active

Hey, I'm having a weird issue with my 2010 Volvo V70 diesel. The dashboard is displaying 'Transport mode active' and it seems to be causing a general electrical malfunction. My navigation system is also dead. It's like the car thinks it's brand new again or something. Any ideas?

Sounds like it might be a software issue. Have you tried a diagnostic check? Sometimes the car needs a reconfiguration after some modules have been reset, which could trigger transport mode. It might be related to the immobilizer too. Has the car battery been disconnected recently?

Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't disconnected the battery, but I did have to jump-start it a few weeks back. Could that have messed something up? What kind of diagnostic check are you talking about, and would a regular OBD2 scanner pick this up or would I need something more Volvo-specific?

Jump-starting could definitely be the culprit. Transport mode is usually deactivated during the pre-delivery inspection and car configuration at the dealership. A generic OBD2 scanner might not be enough to properly diagnose and clear transport mode. You probably need a software refresh. I recommend taking it to a workshop with Volvo diagnostic equipment.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I was hoping it would be something simple, but it sounds like a workshop visit is unavoidable. I'll book it in and hopefully a software refresh will sort it out. Cheers!
