V90 Brake Fluid Low Spongy Pedal

Hey, I'm having a panic with my 2017 Volvo V90 hybrid. The brake fluid warning light came on the other day. I checked, and the level's definitely low. What's weird is the brake pedal feels off, sort of spongy and gives strange feedback. I'm guessing it could be worn brakes maybe? Anyone else had this?

I had something similar with my V90. Low brake fluid and the pedal felt weird. Have you checked your brake pads recently? That was the culprit in my case.

Interesting! How worn were your pads when it happened? And did you notice any other warning signs before the fluid light came on?

They were pretty worn, down to the metal almost. I didn't really notice anything specific before, just the warning light one morning. I'd get it checked out by a professional just to be safe though. Could be the master cylinder, but hopefully it's just the pads.

Thanks a lot! Took your advice and brought it in. Turns out it was indeed the worn brakes as well! Cost me about 480€ to get them replaced, but at least the weird pedal feel is gone and the light's off. Really appreciate the help!
