V90 Central Locking Failure

That's a helpful analogy. I haven't examined the wiring looms in detail yet. Where should I be looking for these connectors, and are any special tools needed?

On my Insignia, the main connectors were behind the door cards, where the wiring harness enters the door from the body. You might need some plastic trim removal tools to carefully pry off the door cards without damaging them. Check for green crusties (corrosion) or loose pins. If you're not comfortable, take it to a workshop; they'll diagnose it properly. I ended up doing that.

Thanks for the detailed explanation and the trim removal tool tip. It sounds like a job best left to the professionals, especially with the potential for further damage. I appreciate your help; I'll schedule a workshop visit. Based on your experience, a repair cost of 95€ seems reasonable.

I had a similar problem with my 2018 Opel Insignia. The central locking went haywire and it was a corroded connector in the door wiring harness. Think of it like a garden hose with a kink – the signal can't get through. Have you checked the wiring looms going into the doors for any visible damage or corrosion?
