Vanette AC failure
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Nissan Vanette diesel's air conditioning system failed at 92,673 km, with the AC not switching on or cooling. The initial suspicion was defective individual valves in the AC system. A suggestion was made to check for refrigerant leaks or pressure switch issues, common causes of sudden AC failure. Ultimately, it was advised to seek professional help due to the complexity of AC diagnostics, leading to a garage confirming the valve issue.

Thanks for the tip! How would I check those things myself, or is that something best left to a professional?

While you could inspect for obvious signs of leakage, AC diagnostics often require specialized equipment. Given the potential complexity and the presence of refrigerant, it might be wise to consult a trusted workshop for a thorough assessment and repair.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. Dropped it off at the garage; looks like it's those valves you mentioned and will be about 1000€ to fix. Cheers!

I also drive a Nissan Vanette, and I recall encountering something similar a while back. Did you check for refrigerant leaks or issues with the pressure switch? That's often the culprit when the AC suddenly stops working.
