Good shout! The hissing does seem to be coming from that area. So, you reckon it's worth pulling the sensor and having a good look before I start tracing wires? Did you end up replacing the whole sensor unit or just fiddling with the connection?

In my case, the sensor itself was faulty. After confirming the wiring was intact, I replaced the sensor. If you are unsure, going to the workshop is advisable.

Cheers! Ended up being exactly what you said, a faulty sensor. Took it to a workshop and they replaced the sensor. Cost me 95€ all in. Thanks for the tip!

I had a similar issue with my Vanette. Is the hissing sound coming from the air intake area? It might be worth checking the sensor itself for physical damage before diving into the wiring. A visual inspection can sometimes save you a lot of time.
