Vauxhall Adam battery sensor issue

Hi, my 2018 Vauxhall Adam with a gasoline engine is showing some weird symptoms. The engine feels weak when starting, and the lights are flickering, almost like low voltage. Battery is only 3 years old, but could it be the battery sensor? Mileage is at 44931 km.

I had similar issues with my Adam. Check the battery sensor; it's a common fault. Do you have a multimeter? Check the battery voltage with the engine running and off.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't have a multimeter, but I could borrow one. What readings should I be looking for, and where exactly is the battery sensor located on the Adam?

With the engine off, you should see around 12.6V. Running, it should be 13.7V to 14.7V. If it's lower, it could well be the sensor. The sensor is usually attached to the negative terminal of the battery. Honestly, I'd get it checked by a pro to be sure.

Turns out you were right, it was the battery sensor. Workshop confirmed it, and the repair cost me 315€. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
