Vauxhall Adam central locking malfunction

My 2014 Vauxhall Adam (gasoline engine) central locking is malfunctioning; the doors can't be locked or unlocked. I suspect a faulty door contact signal. Any advice on troubleshooting? The car has 174423 km on the clock. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

I had something similar happen with my Adam. It sounds like the door sensor might be the culprit, especially if your car alarm is also acting up. Have you checked the wiring and connections going to the door sensor? A loose or corroded connection can cause electrical gremlins.

Thank you for your input. Could you please elaborate on which specific wiring and connections I should inspect? Are there particular points that are known to be problematic in these vehicles?

Certainly. In my case, it was the cable and plug connection of the component inside the door. Unfortunately, I am not an expert and ended up taking it to a workshop to resolve it. They identified that exact connection as being defective. If you are not comfortable with electrical work, it would be a good idea to get it checked professionally.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I took the car to a local workshop and they confirmed a defective cable/plug connection and resolved the issue with the door contact signal for 95€. The central locking system is now functioning correctly.
