Vauxhall Adam Engine Power Loss and Hissing

Hi, I've got a 2019 Vauxhall Adam, gasoline engine, and the check engine light is on. I'm getting reduced engine power, plus a whistling noise and loud hissing when I accelerate. Error memory shows a charge air temperature sensor error. Could it just be a faulty connection?

Sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my Adam. Same symptoms – check engine light, power loss, and a weird hissing sound. In my case, it was also related to the air intake. Did you check the temperature gauge? Was it running high?

Thanks! The temperature gauge seems normal, but what exactly was wrong with yours? Was it definitely the sensor or something else?

On mine, it was the sensor connection. If the temperature gauge seems normal, it still might be worth getting the sensor and its wiring checked properly. Given the hissing, you might have a leak somewhere too. I ended up taking mine to a workshop as diagnosing it myself was a pain.
