Thanks for the quick reply! When you had the issue, did the smoke appear constantly, or only under acceleration like mine? And did the error code specifically mention the exhaust back pressure sensor, or was it something more generic?

In my case, the smoke was more noticeable under acceleration, similar to what you described. The error code was quite specific, pointing directly to the exhaust back pressure sensor. Considering your symptoms and the diagnostic results, it seems likely that the sensor is indeed the culprit. Given the potential impact on emission control, I would suggest that you take your car to a trusted workshop as soon as possible to get it checked out and repaired.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – it was the exhaust back pressure sensor. Cost me 245€ to replace, but at least the smoke's gone, and the warning light is off. Appreciate the help!

I am sorry to hear about the issues you are experiencing with your Vauxhall Adam. I have a similar car model, and I encountered a similar problem a while back. If the diagnostic tool indicates an issue with the exhaust sensor, it is a probable cause. These sensors are critical for emission control, and a malfunction can definitely trigger warning lights and affect engine performance. However, it might be wise to verify the sensor connections and wiring before assuming the sensor itself is faulty.
