Vauxhall Vectra ABS Fault

I own a 2001 Vauxhall Vectra with a gasoline engine. Recently, the ABS lamp lights up on the dashboard, and I'm experiencing traction problems, indicating a failure of the ABS system. Has anyone encountered a similar speed signal fault?

I had a similar malfunction with my 2014 Renault Megane, though it manifested a little differently. The odometer went crazy, and the dashboard looked like a Christmas tree. Did you perform a diagnostic check? It sounds like a sensor issue, but it could also be the control unit.

Thank you for your reply. I have not done a diagnostic check yet. What do you mean by control unit?

By control unit, I mean the ABS module. It's the computer that controls the ABS system. In my case, the affected control unit was defective, which required replacement. Given your symptoms and the age of your Vectra, it might be worth investigating that possibility. I would recommend a visit to a workshop.

I appreciate the advice. It seems like the control unit being defective is the most likely cause. I took it to the workshop, and they confirmed it. The eventual repair cost came to 1000€. Thank you for your help.
