The car starts fine. I haven't measured the battery voltage. If it starts normally, could the battery still be too weak for the alarm?

Yes, absolutely. Starting needs a lot of current, but the alarm is more sensitive to voltage drops. If the battery is old, the voltage might dip low enough to trigger the alarm fault, even if it starts the car. Best to get it diagnosed at a workshop.

Following your advice, a workshop inspected it. The battery was the problem, causing the alarm malfunction. Replacing it cost 330€.

Sounds like gremlins, but let's see. Is the car starting okay? And have you checked the battery voltage? A weak battery can cause weird electrical issues.
