Vauxhall Vectra Central Locking Failure

My 2007 Vauxhall Vectra diesel has 218534 kilometers on the clock and the central locking has stopped working. Neither the remote or interior switch will lock or unlock the doors. An OBD-II scanner shows an error code for the central locking system. I've checked the fuses and they're fine. Any ideas what could be causing this before I take it to a garage?

I had a similar issue with my 2012 Renault Megane, although the error code was slightly different. All doors refused to lock remotely. Did you check the wiring loom that goes from the car body into the door? On my Megane the wires were damaged and frayed after years of bending every time the door was opened and closed. I had to replace the entire loom.

Thanks. Which door or doors were affected on your Renault Megane? Were there any other symptoms, like issues with the electric windows or door speakers?

It was the driver's side door that caused the issue on my Megane. The central locking stopped working, but weirdly enough, the electric window and speaker in that door were still working fine, which made the diagnosis more difficult. Based on your description I would suggest that you visit a workshop.

Thanks for the input. Following your suggestion and further investigation, the issue was traced to a defective cable and plug connection within the door wiring. The repair, including parts and labor, came to 95€ Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
