Vauxhall Vectra Intake Leak

The hose I suspect is after the air filter and before the throttle body. The hissing definitely gets louder as the engine RPM increases. Does that mean it's a split intake hose?

Absolutely! Since the hissing grows with RPM and the hose is in the right spot, I'm 99% sure that's your issue. Take it to a trusted mechanic to get it properly diagnosed and repaired. Patching it might only be temporary. A bad leak can affect other parts of your engine. A complete hose replacement fixed everything for me.

Your Renault experience really helped confirm my suspicions. I'll schedule an appointment with a reliable workshop to have the intake hose replaced. The mechanic confirmed the intake hose was leaking. Repair cost 100€.

I had similar issues with my old Renault. Hissing and the check engine light are dead giveaways. Mine was a split in the intake hose, like you describe. Is the hose you found after the air filter and before the throttle body? If so, that's almost certainly your problem. Is the hissing constant, or does it change with engine RPM?
