Vauxhall Vectra smoking losing power

Alright, my 2001 Vauxhall Vectra diesel is giving me grief. The check engine light's on, power's down, and it's chucking out smoke when I put my foot down. Mileage is just 43535 km. Suspect it's something to do with the crankcase ventilation valve. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my Vectra. Smoke under acceleration and a loss of power sounds like a defective valve. Is the idle rough as well?

Cheers! Yeah, the idle's a bit lumpy at times, not always though. You reckon it's definitely the ventilation valve then?

Based on your symptoms and the rough idle, I'd say it's highly likely. Best get it checked at a workshop. Could be a leak somewhere causing the smoke.
