Vauxhall Vectra Wiper Failure

Evening. My 2004 Vauxhall Vectra (gasoline engine, 180648 km) is playing up. The windshield wipers have stopped working altogether. Plugged it into the diagnostic tool and it's throwing up an error related to the wiper circuit. I'm suspecting a dodgy cable or connector somewhere. Before I start ripping the dash apart, anyone had similar issues?

Hey! I had a similar thing happen on my old Peugeot 307. Wiper motor just died. Have you checked the wiper motor wiring harness for any corrosion or damage? Also, does your Vectra have cruise control or a rain sensor? Sometimes issues with those can mess with the wipers.

Thanks for the tip! Yes, it has cruise control, but no rain sensor. You think the cruise control could be the culprit? Is the wiring harness difficult to access?

On my Peugeot, the cruise control module was somehow interfering with the wiper circuit. No idea why, but disconnecting it temporarily fixed the wipers. I'd say it's worth a shot. As for the wiring harness, it depends on the car. It might be easier just to take it to a workshop. I know it sucks but it's a possibility.

Cheers! Bit the bullet and took it to the shop. Turns out a connector block near the wiper motor was corroded. New connector and a bit of cleaning, and it's all working again. Cost me 95€, all in. Thanks for your help!
