Vectra Control Unit Error

My 2007 Vauxhall Vectra (gasoline engine) with 248525 km is throwing a control unit communication error. Symptoms include engine overheating, check engine light, and coolant spill due to excessive cooling system pressure. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection.

I had similar issues with my Vectra. Is the check engine light constant, or intermittent? Have you checked the CAN bus connections? Sometimes a loose connector can cause havoc with the control unit data link.

The light is constant. Where exactly did you find the problematic CAN bus connections on your car?

Mine was near the ABS module. It caused similar issues, but I’m not an expert. It might be better to get it checked by a workshop. They can pinpoint the faulty module using diagnostic tools.

Turned out to be a corroded connector on the ECU. Cleaned and replaced it for 95€. Issue resolved.
