Vectra Damping Adjustment Fault

When you say 'damping control component', do you mean the actual shock absorber unit, or is there a separate module somewhere that controls the damping? Is it easily accessible, or do I need to get under the car to have a proper look? I'm not the most mechanically gifted, so any extra detail would be greatly appreciated!

It's related to the shock absorber unit itself, however, I do not advise any repairs beyond your capabilities. If there's an error stored in the memory it might be more serious than just a loose cable. Consulting with a qualified workshop to diagnose the damping adjustment fault would be a more reasonable course of action.

Ok, thanks for the advice. I appreciate you sharing your experience. I'll book it in with a local garage to get it checked out. They found a defective cable or plug connection of the component and repaired it for 95€. At least now I know what to look for if it happens again!

I have a Vectra too and a similar situation occurred a while back. The symptoms sound familiar. Have you checked the cable or plug connection of the damping control component itself? These connections can become loose or corroded over time, causing intermittent errors and a rough ride.
