Vel Satis Terminal 30 Interruption

Hey, I had something similar happen with my Vel Satis (don't remember the exact year of mine). Same poor starting symptoms. Sounds like it could be a short circuit somewhere in the wiring harness. Have you checked for any obvious signs of damaged wiring? For terminal 30, it might be worth checking the main fuses under the hood and the ones in the dashboard. Remember, terminal 30 refers to the direct, unfused battery power.

Yeah, visually inspect the fuses first – look for any broken filaments. You can also test them with a multimeter to be absolutely sure, checking for continuity. As for the wiring harness, trace the wires from the battery and starter motor. Look for any areas where the wires might be rubbing against the body or engine. Common signs are frayed insulation, melted plastic, or even corrosion. Honestly, though, intermittent electrical problems can be a real pain to track down. Might be worth getting it checked by a workshop.

OK, thanks for the advice. I think I'll take it to a workshop, since electrical gremlins are not my strong suit. It's probably the best option. I will post the solution when I have it. The issue was, indeed, the battery, and I had to replace it. It was heavily discharged and defective. The final repair cost was 290€
