Veloster radar sensor malfunction

I'm pulling my hair out here! I have a 2011 Hyundai Veloster with a gasoline engine and about 148k km. Lately, the radar sensor seems to have packed it in. I get an error message in the speedometer, and there's an error stored when they hook it up to diagnostics. It's even messing with other systems! The warning light in the speedometer is constantly on. Could a dirty sensor really be causing all this?

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Hyundai Veloster owner experienced a radar sensor malfunction, leading to error messages and issues with other systems, including the adaptive cruise control. The problem was suspected to be caused by a dirty sensor. Cleaning the sensor and performing a radar calibration at a workshop resolved the issue, restoring functionality.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds frustrating! I have a Veloster too, and I had a similar issue a while back. Was it impacting the adaptive cruise control too?

Yes! The adaptive cruise is completely useless now. Did cleaning the sensor solve it for you, or was there more to it?

I wasn't able to fix it myself. I took mine to a workshop, and they sorted it out pretty quickly. Hopefully it won't be too expensive!

Thanks for the tip! Turns out the sensor was just caked in grime. A quick clean and radar calibration at the shop cost me 45€ and fixed everything. I appreciate the advice!
