VelSatis start stop problem

I'm experiencing some trouble with my 2007 Renault VelSatis (gasoline engine). The start-stop system is not working. I get an error message, the engine shuts off, and there's a warning light on the speedometer. Could it be a serious issue?

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Opel Insignia. The start-stop kept failing. Does it struggle to automatically restart after it shuts off, or does it just refuse to activate at all?

Yep, that's exactly what was happening with my Insignia. In my case, it turned out the battery was heavily discharged. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop to get it checked. They can properly diagnose the problem. I think it is the battery, and you can save a lot of time by taking it to the shop immediately.
