Venue exhaust flap issue
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Hyundai Venue with 145,850 km is experiencing exhaust issues, including a louder exhaust note and noisy cold starts. The problem is suspected to be a defective exhaust flap, which could lead to blockage and affect engine performance. Indeed, a drone is an apt description! It's most noticeable at lower speeds and during acceleration. Were your symptoms identical? If so, what did you do to fix it? Did it require extensive exhaust work?

Yeah, sounds like the same problem. I had the error code cleared a couple of times, but it kept coming back. Just took it to a workshop; they told me the exhaust flap motor was shot. Probably best to get it checked.

Thank you for the insight! I suspected as much. A visit to the workshop, it seems, is unavoidable. I appreciate you confirming my suspicions. I took your advice and went to the workshop. The exhaust flap was indeed defective! Repair cost me 190€. Everything is working properly now!

I have a Venue too, and had something similar happen. Louder exhaust, error codes popping up. Exhaust flaps open and close to control exhaust flow. Does it sound kind of like a constant drone?
